An ICSF Angel

Meet Janet Brigham. At first glance, she is one of the many volunteers who donate their time and expertise to keep ICSF running. A research psychologist at SRI International in Menlo Park, California, with a background as a professional editor and writer, she edits and formats ICSF’s quarterly newsletter.

Janet and her husband

Janet Brigham and her husband, professional genealogist Richard Rands, enjoy a light moment at Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona.

But there is more to the story. As a teenager, Dr. Brigham was Dr. Williams’ babysitter! “I fondly remember as a child in Lewiston, Idaho, Janet’s soft manner and how she could make me behave with-out raising her voice,” comments Dr. Williams.

Dr. Brigham, on the other hand, insists that she rarely has been accused of having a soft manner, and recalls Dr. Williams and his siblings as adventuresome but well-behaved boys. Because Dr. Williams’ father worked with wildlife, the Williams family sometimes invited the Brighams to come see a baby bear or a fawn.

And now she is helping the children of the world— one of ICSF’s angels.
